My Autistic Son & His Pumpkin Patch

My son, Luke, will be a big hit TV personality!

You see, Luke loves to garden. Luke has also been watching his daddy do gardening video for a YouTube channel for a while now. This time Luke wanted in on the action for real! He wanted to plant pumpkin seeds, but at the same time he made it clear that he wanted to have a video of it. I'm very excited to watch Luke express himself on camera because in some ways he connects very well with the camera in ways that he can't with a live audience.

Luke is Autistic. There are some real ambitions in there, but it's clear that it's very difficult at times to express his real feelings. The stimulation of interacting with people face to face is very overwhelming. We are working on these things with different therapies and lots of love, but some of it will likely never go away. This is why I love to see him open up with the camera.

Watch Luke as he plants his Pumpkin Patch in the first video. The second video is his first update. As time goes on I'll post pictures and videos to update how this project is going.

About a week after that second video we went up to the pumpkin patch for some photos of the plants as they are getting bigger. Luke is very proud.
